Gold Leaching CIL/CIP Plant: Carbon-in-place leaching (CIL) and carbon-in-place leaching (CIP) are two commonly used technologies for extracting gold from ore. While these two methods are based on similar principles, they have subtle differences.
CIP Process: CIP (carbon-in-place leaching process) is suitable for low-grade ores and uses solution to penetrate the ore for recovery. It is easy to operate and highly efficient.
CIL Process: CIL (carbon-in-leach) is suitable for high-grade ores, where gold is adsorbed by carbon particles and then extracted through refining.
Working Principle
The basic principle of the CIL/CIP process is to first grind gold ore and mix it with a cyanide solution, dissolving the gold into gold cyanide. Activated carbon is then used to adsorb the dissolved gold. In the CIL process, the carbon reacts with the ore slurry, while in the CIP process, the leachate is separated from the carbon and passed through a carbon tank to adsorb the gold.
